I am so thrilled to have the opportunity to work with you on
developing your musical skills. I love teaching and have developed these studio
policies to help give clear expectations for my students and their parents.
Lesson Rates:
Voice Piano
$20 – 30 minute lesson $10
– 30 minute lesson
$30 – 45 minute lesson $15
– 45 minute lesson
Payment and
Scheduling
At the first lesson of every month, the responsible party
should communicate any scheduling conflicts they may have that month and be
prepared to pay for all the lessons that they expect to have that month. Other
payment options can be explored on a case-by-case basis as necessary.
Time Slot Scheduling
Lessons are scheduled on a specific day and time; in
essence, the time slot belongs to you. Because student lessons are placed very
closely, be prompt in your arrival. Lessons are scheduled to be 30 or 45
minutes long. A lesson’s actual duration may be within 2-3 minutes of the
official length.
Lesson Preparation
Students are expected to come with all of their materials to
lessons. Students who come to lessons without materials may have a shorter
lesson but will still be charged for a full lesson.
Tardiness
If a student is 5-10 minutes late to a lesson, that time
will be deducted from their total lesson time. Students over ten minutes late
who have not contacted the teacher will be considered a no-call, no show
cancellation. In this case, the student will still be financially responsible
for the lesson.
Cancellations
Lessons will be available for rescheduling if notice is
given on the day of the lesson by 8:00
AM for morning lessons or 12:00 PM for afternoon lessons. If the teacher is
not notified in this time frame the lessons will be classified as a no-call,
no-show and the teacher will not be obligated to reschedule and the family will
be responsible for the lesson. In the case of sudden illness or emergencies,
the teacher is actually very nice, so be sure to call her. Ongoing issues with
cancellation may lead to the loss of the student’s spot in the music studio.
If the student cannot make-up their lesson on the official
makeup day or in an arranged time slot within a week of the cancellation the
families will be financially responsible for the lesson.
If the teacher needs to miss a lesson
with a student, she will reschedule it at the student’s convenience. If, for
some reason, we cannot make up a lesson, payment from that lesson will be
credited towards the next month's bill.
If you wish to stop lessons please give the teacher
notice. Lessons are billed monthly so
should stop on the last week of the month. Refunds will not be issued for
students who stop lessons mid-month.
Learning/Behavior
I have the privilege of working with a wide array of
students with different ability and skill levels. Please help me be aware of
any specific challenges your child may face, so I can best meet their needs.
Taking lessons can be emotionally challenging at times and I try my best to
maintain a positive learning environment with love and patience.
Communication
Please be in open communication with me about lessons. I
appreciate and value your concerns and feedback. In the learning experience we
are a team, and I am always open to talk in person or via email, phone call, or
text.
Recitals
The Studio holds recitals 2-3 times a year. Students at
times may be charged a recital fee to help cover the cost of the venue.
Historically this amount has been nominal.
Supplies
Parents will be responsible for covering the cost of
supplies. For piano students a set of books will generally be purchased 1-2
times a year. For voice students, I encourage investing in a recommended music
book once to twice a year.
